UPDATE: You are allowed to use the 'Dark Fairy' game too!
Since our last contests was such a succes I've decided to have more contests from now on! We will do normal contests with a top three and these mini contests were there is only one winner, but they will be more frequently. Now let me tell you some more about THIS contest, the Azalea's Dolls Lovers Halloween Mini Contest!
Theme: Dress up a doll like a monster, zombie, witch, pumpkin or any other halloween theme!
If I've already uploaded a doll into the folder for its category (in this case, the Tinker Bell one) but I think it would be a good entry for the Halloween contest, am I allowed to put it in the contest folder also? It said I couldn't, but I'm wondering if I just didn't do it right. (I'm still new to deviantart.) If nothing else, would there be screaming and anger if I just uploaded the same image twice so I could put it in the contest?
Well, if you'd like a suggestion, then set it up as a poll. When the contest ends, group all of the pictures that used the same doll maker into a poll, and whichever one gets the most votes wins for that category...then take all of the category winners and have a final poll where everyone votes on which they think should be the overall winner. Like a less complicated dog show. *lol*
but then i have to make all the polls on my da and put links in a journal entry or so... I'm not sure if people are willing to vote that way.. hmmm. what do you think? would you click a link in a blog from the group to vote in a poll? and i mean ALL the links from ALL the games?
Well, how many polls you end up having will probably be dependent on how many entries there are. If only one person uses one maker and only 2 people use another maker, and 2 people use a third maker, it would be perfectly reasonable as far as I would be concerned to consolidate those 5 entries into a single poll. Conversely, if there are 15 entries all using the same maker, it's reasonable to split them into 2-3 polls. What you want in the end is to have enough "semi-final" polls so that you have 5-7 "finalists" for the poll that determines the overall winner.
Having the polls be on the group page would ensure that only group members get to vote. Hosting the polls on a personal page would mean that the polls wouldn't pop up in people's messages unless they are also watching your personal page, and that would both invite votes from non-members as well as make it more of a hassle for people get to the polls and vote. But ultimately, it's your contest, so it's up to you. *lol*
Well you have to be a member of the group, then when you are on the page of your doll/deviation you can click something like 'add to group' on the right and then choose 'azaleasdollslovers' and select the 'contest' folder.
